Dancing With The Stars

Out of the comer of my eye, with no fanfare, Judy walked through the door with Bob, Kay, and Roger. She had a wonderful smile and her gaze drifted toward us while making her way to the piano. Somehow, it had truly never occurred to me how very small she was, having seen her only on the silver screen.

CELEBRATE DANCING

Dancer, choreographer and author Norman Borine had an incredible life. He moved to Hollywood from Idaho to pursue his dream of dancing, and enjoyed a remarkable career, working with such top talents as Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe, Fred Astaire, Judy Garland and Betty Hutton along the way. From choreographing the Emmy Award-winning television series Faith of our Children, which debuted in 1953, to publishing a tribute to martial arts star Bruce Lee in 2002, Borine had plenty of stories to share. These memories are all part of a new book, Dancing with the Stars, written before his death in 2005, offering a unique behind-the-scenes look at the fabulous Golden Age of Hollywood. The new book, available in a beautifully bound hard cover edition by Fideli Publishing, also features an eye-catching array of rare photographs. Borine’s nephew, Bill Borine, signs copies of the book on Sunday, June 22, from 2-4 p.m. at Just Fabulous bookstore.
